Ballet San Jose has lined up top dancers from around the country and abroad – including members of American Ballet Theatre, New York City, Boston and San Francisco ballets (Taras Domitro and Maria Kochetkova from our town) – to perform with the company at its Nov. 16 gala season opener at San Jose Center for the Performing Arts, celebrating the arrival of the ballet’s new director, José Manuel Carreño. You can pay a grand for the full schmeer (dinner, after-party, maybe even goodie bags) or as little as $50 to catch the performance, which includes excerpts from works by Balanchine, Christopher Wheeldon and David Fernandez.
